Toiletry Bag Project a Success

10-Year-old J and his mother donated 70 adorable toiletry bags, filled with the toiletries children in emergency shelters need but don’t always have, to For Every Child Thanksgiving weekend.

Children entering into the foster care program or an emergency shelter often arrive with very few belongings, if anything at all. Our ‘Hope Totes’ program provides them with 3-4 new outfits, underclothes, pajamas and a toiletry bag.

J, his mom and several friends and neighbors, sewed the toiletry bags and then decided to go a step further by collecting the toiletries and packing the bags.

For Every Child President Julie Petrovic said, “These toiletry bags are all the more special because they were made by a child for other children.”

Thank you to J and his mom for spearheading this project!
